What is Last.fm?

Last.fm tracks the music you listen to and builds listening statistics. Register at last.fm/join. After creating an account, connect Spotify (or another player) under Last.fm connections so scrobbles sync automatically.

Connecting your account

Use ,lastfm login and follow the DM instructions. Disconnect with ,lastfm logout.

,lastfm / ,lf - full Last.fm command group (stats, whoknows, login, etc.)
,fm / ,np / ,nowplaying - show current or last played track only

adore caches your library after login (and when you run ,lastfm update). Wait a few seconds before running whoknows-style commands so playcounts are warm.

Run ,lastfm update anytime to refresh your cached library. There is a 5 minute cooldown per user to protect the Last.fm API.

Custom now-playing embed (Personal Premium)

,lastfm mode {embed}... or ,lastfm mode {container}... lets donators replace the default now-playing card with adore embed or container syntax. See Donator Perks for syntax and examples. Reset with ,lastfm mode none. Check status with ,lastfm mode.

Last.fm account data uses the {lastfm.*} prefix, not {user.*}.

Spotify fields return N/A if Spotify search is unavailable or no match is found.

Performance & caching

adore is built for large servers:

Guild linked-user maps are cached in memory and Redis (about 10 minutes).
Playcounts are cached per user/artist (about 30 minutes).
Whoknows leaderboards are cached per guild/artist (about 3 minutes) so repeats are instant.
On 50k+ member guilds, linked accounts are resolved via an indexed Last.fm scan + member-set intersect instead of a single huge ANY(member_ids) query.
,lastfm update warms your top artists and playcounts so the next whoknows/crowns run is faster.

Known Issues

Out of Sync

Last.fm and Spotify can lag.

Restart Spotify to force a refresh.
Reconnect Spotify under Last.fm connections.
Run ,lastfm update after catching up.

Last.fm Failure

If commands error unexpectedly, Last.fm may be down.

Check status.last.fm.
Join our support server if it persists.
