Getting started

XP tracking is off by default. Enable it first:
To temporarily stop tracking:

Setting up role rewards

Reward members with roles when they reach a level:
sync ensures all members have the correct reward roles based on their current XP.

Level-up messages

Configure where and how members are notified when they level up. These commands only change message settings - they do not turn XP tracking on or off. Run ,levels unlock once to enable the system; after that, you can change message mode, channel, and text without re-unlocking.
1

Enable leveling

2

Choose where messages go

3

Set the level-up channel (if using channel mode)

Required when messagemode is channel. Use ,levels channel remove to clear it.
4

Customize the message (optional)

Supports adore embed syntax. Use ,levels message reset for the default.

Command reference

These are three separate commands - don’t mix them up:
  • ,levels messagemode - where notifications go (channel, pm, context, or none)
  • ,levels channel - which channel to use when mode is channel
  • ,levels message - the text or embed sent on level up (not the channel)

Check your configuration

Run ,levels overview to see a dashboard of your current setup:
  • Leveling system - enabled/disabled, XP multiplier, stack roles
  • Level-up messages - message mode and level-up channel (when using channel mode)
  • Reward roles - configured role rewards by level

Other commands

Tips

  • Use ,levels messagemode none to disable level-up messages in busy channels without disabling XP tracking
  • If you use messagemode channel, set ,levels channel too - otherwise level-ups have nowhere to post
  • Run ,levels sync after adding new rewards to an active server
  • Pair with starboard and autorole for engagement
