What is a fake owner?

A fake owner is a trusted user who receives the same command-level access as the real server owner inside adore. They can run owner-restricted commands, bypass permission checks, and configure the server - without actually being the Discord server owner.
Fake owners have enormous power. Only assign this to someone you trust as much as yourself. There can only be one fake owner per server at a time.

Setting a fake owner

Only the real server owner can manage the fake owner (not the fake owner themselves).
adore will ask you to confirm before granting fake owner. Run the same command again on the current fake owner to remove them.
You cannot set yourself, a bot, or the real server owner as fake owner.

What fake owners can do

Fake owners are treated as the server owner for almost all adore commands:
  • Bypass command permissions - run any command that normally requires Discord perms, administrator, or server owner
  • Configure security - manage antinuke, antiraid, fake permissions, and security admins
  • Full moderation access - ban, kick, jail, stripstaff, hardban, and all other mod commands
  • Server configuration - prefix, welcome messages, tickets, leveling, and more

What fake owners cannot do

Some commands are restricted to the real owner only (real_owner permission):

Protection

Fake owners receive special protections:
  • Antinuke immune - actions by the fake owner never trigger antinuke punishments
  • Cannot be moderated - staff (including security admins) cannot ban, kick, mute, or jail the fake owner. Only the real server owner can moderate them
  • Role protection - only the real server owner can add or remove roles from the fake owner

Fake owner vs security admin

Use a security admin when someone only needs to manage antinuke/antiraid. Use a fake owner when you want a full co-owner who can run everything.
